Education

Jorge received a BM and MM from Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy before going on to earn an additional MM and a GPD Guitar Performance from the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, Jorge completed two years of apprentice study at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia and participated in multiple master classes and workshops throughout Europe.

As a Performer

Jorge has performed extensively across Europe, Mexico, Kazakhstan, Israel, Cyprus, and the United States as a soloist and chamber musician (including duos with flute, cello, and voice) and with string quartets. He has also appeared as a soloist with orchestras. Jorge has published a solo album as well as three guitar duo albums, which received rave reviews in publications in Europe and the US.

As a Teacher

Prior to Levine, Jorge served as the Director of Guitar Studies at Baldwin Wallace University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts. He has also taught as an assistant teacher at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia and as a faculty member of Montogermy College in Rockville, MD. Since 2011, his students have earned top prizes at national and international guitar competitions, including the Guitar Foundation of America and the Marlow Guitar International Competition.

At Levine

Jorge joined the Levine guitar faculty in 2024.

Teaching Philosophy

I am a passionate teacher and I enjoy discovering each student’s capacity and potential. My goal is to help students of any age build confidence, develop concentration and patience, and enhance creativity, discipline, and individual musical taste that will ever evolve and last a lifetime, all in a fun and supportive environment.
