Quey Percussion Duo (QPD) members Gene Koshinski and Tim Broscious will present an interactive rhythmic fluency workshop open to all musicians using the Rítmica system.
Rítmica is a unique, musical, and fun approach to developing rhythm, coordination, counterpoint, and independence, developed by Brazilian conductor and pedagogue José Eduardo Gramani.
Rítmica consists of systematic exercises that focus on rhythmic fluency for all musicians, regardless of instrument or experience level. Each exercise has criteria based on one’s own ability and can be modified to address
the needs of individual performers, from beginners to professionals. The exercises and etudes utilize simple body percussion (clapping hands, tapping feet, snapping fingers, etc.), vocalization, and conducting to address a myriad of rhythmic and coordination fundamentals.
QPD is the only percussion duo to hold a full-time residency in the United States at the University of Delaware. QPD’s unmistakable style and extensive performing career offer percussionists a truly unique educational opportunity.
